For the second year in the row, a band of Vikings will head downtown in the name of some festive fun on October 1st and 2nd. The 2nd Annual Viking Festival and Pub Tour kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and it continues through Sunday with reenactments, demonstrations, and fun and games.
Head to the Arlington Viking Festival to watch professionals demo the old-school weapons that Vikings would have used or to see live forging and casting. There will also be duels fought by sword, knitting and spinning, and chain mail-weaving to watch at the festival. Don't forget about the pub tour, either, which kicks off at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. You'll get to visit various pubs around town and snag some free food and drink along the way.
